How to Install Google Talk with Video Chat on Your Android Phone

As with all hacks, if you choose to continue you do so at your own risk. What worked on my phone may brick yours.
1. You must have a rooted phone.
2. Download the flashable .ZIP file from XDA-Developers to the root of your sdcard
3. Using ROM Manager (or a similar ROM flashing utility or recovery image) flash the .ZIP from step 1.

4. Reboot.
5. Enjoy the new version of Google Talk!

Please note that just because you are running the latest version of the app doesn't mean you'll be able to use all the features such as video and audio calling -- but that shouldn't stop you from trying. Also, your smartphone may not have a front-facing camera, or if it does, the camera may be using a proprietary driver that prevents Google Talk from using it.

If you do venture forward with this hack, please let us know the make and model of your smartphone, the version of Android that you're running, and what new features you were able to get to work in the comments!
